This painting is inspired by the legend of Lemanā, a woman whose tears shaped the skies. Her joy brought gentle mist to the mountains. Her sorrow summoned heavy downpours. And when anger stirred her heart, the storms would flood the land.

When she was deeply wounded by the one she loved, the Pacific fell into drought. It was through the wisdom of the taulasea—Samoan healers—that she rediscovered her gift and remembered who she truly was.

Far from harm, she finally found peace. And as peace softened her spirit, her tears returned—this time as timuga: quiet showers that fell at night, soothing the land, feeding the crops, and rocking the people to sleep.

This painting captures that sacred moment—the rainfall that ended a long drought.

Inspired by the grace of Moemoana Schwenke, Miss South Pacific, this piece carries the mana of resilience, healing, and remembrance.

For the ones who remember.
For the ones who carry rain.
